OHSU SERVICE PROJECT 2010

"Earthquake Kits for Kids"

We would like everyone to participate and get their families, friends, neighbors and communities involved in creating 750 preparedness kits for the students and teachers at Whittier Elementary School in Salt Lake City.

Carly Foster has created a sign-up sheet in google docs for us to pledge a certain number of items. (The link is below this post.) We can collect the items from our family and friends willing to help. We plan to deliver the kits to the students and teachers on May 25 at an assembly. We can also volunteer to help teach the children earthquake safety at the assembly.

We are striving for 1,000 hours of service this year from our parents, teachers, and students to qualify for Gold Level Group of the President's Volunteer Service Award. Please log in your donated time in the link below, "Project Service Hours."

Let's get involved today by pledging items and our time. Please contact Mrs. Mordecai and let her know how you can help with our service project.

Thank you,

Jeff Freeman, Roger Black, Michael Silva

Assembling the Earthquake Kits

Thank you to everyone who donated items for the kits and for those who came to assemble the kits. It was a lot of work, but we worked well as a team.
